Open the designated HVAC vent and remove your existing filter (if applicable).
Remove plastic wrap from the filter. Avoid cutting or removing the cardboard framing.
With the arrow on the frame pointing towards the fan motor, insert the filter into your home's HVAC sytem.
Typically in the return air grille or near the air handler/furnace. (Make sure your HVAC system is turned off before measuring).
Carefully remove the existing filter. The dimensions should be printed on the side of the filter.
If not labeled, place the filter on a flat surface. Measure the length and width from edge to edge. Use a tape or ruler to measure the thickness by determining the distance between the front and back surfaces of the filter.
